Dartford Ramblers was formed in 1992 with
Gravesham added four years later. Our
membership consists of people from all walks
of life who live in not only the two
districts mentioned but also Bexley and
south east London.
On Sundays we usually have a longer walk or
a shorter one, and sometimes a choice
between both. There are also frequent
Wednesday morning walks which end with a pub
lunch. In the summer we arrange
Saturday ‘breakfast’ walks and occasional
evening walks.
Our walking area generally covers anywhere within a 40-mile radius of the
area, with a variety of lengths between 4 to
12 miles, and including the occasional
figure of eight walk where ramblers can join
for just the first or second half if they
wish. In such cases the second time
listed on the walks programme is for the
start of the second half of the walk.
All are welcome to join us – just turn up!
We are a very friendly group and all new
members are welcomed with open arms.
Many personal friendships have evolved
through the common interest of walking.
We have a varied social calendar, including
weekends away, quiz nights, theatre visits
and Christmas lunches.
If you’re interested in coming along but not sure how to get to the
starting point, you can contact us by E-mail
