Dartford Ramblers was formed in 1992 with Gravesham added four years later. Our membership consists of people from all walks of life who live not only in the two districts mentioned, but also in Bexley and south east London.
Our all-day walks take place on Sundays, and there are also frequent morning walks which often end with an optional pub lunch. In the summer we arrange occasional Saturday ‘breakfast’ walks as well.
Our walking area generally covers anywhere within a 40 mile radius of Dartford, with a variety of distances between 5 to 12 miles, and including some figure of eight walks where ramblers can join for just the first or second half if they wish. In such cases the second time listed on the walks programme is for the start of the second half of the walk. These are ideal for new walkers who want to get some practice in before embarking on a longer distance!
We are a very friendly group and all new members are welcomed with open arms. Many personal friendships have evolved through the common interest of walking.
We have a varied social calendar, including weekends away staying at hotels, Barn Dances, Quiz Nights and annual lunches.
If you’re interested in coming along but not sure how to get to the starting point, give us a ring.
The red outline on the map shows the extent of the Group's area. New members living in this area are allocated to the Group unless they choose a different Group. Many of the Group's walks take place outside this area (see Group Walks Finder).
